The No. 1-ranked Buford Wolves capped an undefeated season with a dramatic 28-21 victory over the No. 2 Carrollton Trojans in the GHSA Class 6A championship at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Tuesday. The game featured a defensive struggle early, with both teams forcing turnovers and keeping scoring low. Buford senior running back Tyriq Green emerged as the hero, rushing for 184 yards and two touchdowns, including a game-winning 82-yard sprint in the fourth quarter that secured the Wolves’ 15th state title. Buford’s defense played a pivotal role, generating four turnovers, while Deion Miller also contributed with a goal-line fumble recovery touchdown.

Hosted by the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports, the tournament brought together top school teams from across Saint Lucia. The final lived up to expectations, with VFCSS using its strong presence in key positions to pressure Micoud throughout the match.
