South Wilts Grammar School (SWGS) is celebrating an impressive sporting achievement after all three of its netball teams qualified for the upcoming regional finals — the only school in Wiltshire to do so across every age group.
The U14 and U16 teams dominated their county competitions, winning every match to be crowned county champions. The U19 squad also delivered a strong performance, finishing as county runners-up with their only loss coming against Dauntsey’s. All three teams will now go on to represent Wiltshire at the regional finals in January.
Mrs Hole, joint head of PE, expressed immense pride in the squads, saying:
“These teams are mentally and physically strong, and each of them rose to the challenge.”
Miss Weir, joint head of PE, added:
“The teams’ achievements are amazing. The whole school community is behind our netballers as they continue their preparations for the regionals. They’ve done SWGS proud, and we know they will push themselves to be fully prepared for the next stage of their journey.”
The U14 and U16 teams went unbeaten throughout their tournaments, while the U19 team recorded notable victories over Marlborough College, Godolphin and Bishop Wordsworth’s School.
