Agora Barcelona International School welcomed students and teachers from across Europe to the Mediterranean Sports Hub for the 2025 Globeducate Cup Finals, creating a vibrant and memorable day of football, camaraderie and cultural exchange. This year’s event brought together 146 students and 28 teachers, representing 12 schools from Portugal, Andorra, Spain and Cyprus, for a 7-a-side tournament featuring both boys’ and girls’ competitions.
The Globeducate Cup is an annual football event designed for students aged 12 to 13, providing a meaningful blend of healthy competition, international friendship and cultural exchange. With previous editions also hosted in Barcelona in 2023 and 2024, the tournament has grown into a flagship experience within the Globeducate network. Beyond the results on the pitch, the Cup promotes teamwork, cooperation, leadership, discipline and commitment, ensuring that students gain valuable educational and social experiences through sport.
In the boys’ competition, PASCAL Private Secondary School from Lefkosia emerged as champions after a strong series of matches, finishing ahead of Cambridge House British International School in second place and Agora Sant Cugat International School in third. Philippos of PASCAL was named Best Goalkeeper, while Hugo of Agora Sant Cugat led the scoring charts.
The girls’ tournament saw Nobel Algarve British International School from Almancil claim the championship title, followed by Agora Granada International School and Agora Madrid International School. Angela of Agora Granada received the Best Goalkeeper award, while her teammate Zoe finished as top scorer.
The awards ceremony brought together school leaders from the Globeducate community, who celebrated not only the performances but also the spirit of collaboration and shared values that underpin the event.
Marc Andreu, Head of Agora Barcelona International School, said:
“It was an honour for Agora Barcelona International School to host the Globeducate Cup. This event is much more than a sports competition, it is a celebration of teamwork, resilience, and international friendship. We are proud to welcome students from around the world and provide an environment where they can grow, learn, and share unforgettable experiences.”
A student from Agora Madrid International School added:
“It has been an amazing experience, the best one from the three I have participated in.”
With outstanding performances, strong sportsmanship and meaningful cross-cultural interactions, the 2025 Globeducate Cup once again highlighted the power of football to bring young people together and create lasting memories.
