Green Canyon overcame a slow first half and a rare halftime deficit to defeat Dixie 59-53 and secure the first state championship in program history. Trailing by four at the break, the Wolves stayed composed and leaned on strong defense to keep the game within reach. Although their outside shooting struggled early, they created extra chances by forcing turnovers and increasing the tempo. In the second half, Green Canyon shifted its focus to attacking the basket, and that adjustment changed the game. The Wolves outscored Dixie in the third quarter to take control, then carried that momentum through the final minutes.

Provo’s championship run didn’t hinge on just one or two stars. It looked more like a team that finally remembered basketball is played by five people at a time. In their 62–42 win over Hurricane, the Bulldogs showcased depth, discipline, and a suspiciously effective offense that refused to settle for bad shots. Four players scored in double digits, with Lucas Castagnetto leading the charge from long range, knocking down five three-pointers on his way to 15 points. Meanwhile, Makai Allen orchestrated everything with 17 points, nine assists, and seven rebounds, while Callen Tollestrup and Griffin DeMartini added steady support. The ball movement was crisp, the shot selection was modern and efficient, and the team shot an eye-catching 50% from beyond the arc while piling up 20 assists.

The St. Andrew’s Saints met the St. Patrick Irish in the MHSAA Class I Soccer State Championship on Friday, February 20, 2026. The National University-Nazareth School (NUNS) Lady Bullpups kicked off their 2026 volleyball season with a bang, capturing the 2025 Rebisco Volleyball League (RVL) National and Invitational Finals titles. Fresh off their UAAP Season 88 girls’ championship in December, they carried their winning momentum into the RVL National Capital Region finals, where they triumphed on January 9, 2026. Just one day later, they defeated the same opponents, earning the chance to represent Metro Manila in the national finals. Coach Ray Karl Dimaculangan set clear goals for the team: victory, momentum, and learning from the experience, all of which they accomplished with impressive results.

Pleasant Grove made school history by winning its first 5A drill team state championship, ending Bountiful’s reign and turning years of steady progress into a title. After placing fifth in the highly competitive 6A tournament for three straight seasons, the Vikettes moved into 5A this year and made the most of the shift. Their strongest results came in the Dance and Show categories, where they placed first on Saturday at UVU. Coach Sami Jo Carson said the team’s theme for the season was “legacy,” with the goal of building on the program’s past while setting a new standard for the future. That focus showed throughout the season, as Pleasant Grove entered the state tournament as one of the top contenders and carried that confidence all the way to the championship.
