Green Canyon overcame a slow first half and a rare halftime deficit to defeat Dixie 59-53 and secure the first state championship in program history. Trailing by four at the break, the Wolves stayed composed and leaned on strong defense to keep the game within reach. Although their outside shooting struggled early, they created extra chances by forcing turnovers and increasing the tempo. In the second half, Green Canyon shifted its focus to attacking the basket, and that adjustment changed the game. The Wolves outscored Dixie in the third quarter to take control, then carried that momentum through the final minutes.
Talyssa Nelson led the way with 20 points and delivered a late three-pointer that helped seal the win, while Halle Hunter gave Green Canyon a major lift off the bench with 12 points on a perfect shooting night and six rebounds. Mya Hinds also made a strong all-around impact with nine points, nine rebounds, and eight assists. Dixie fought to stay close behind a determined fourth-quarter push from Izzy Hollingshead, but Green Canyon answered every challenge. After falling short in past semifinal appearances, the Wolves made the most of their first trip to the championship game and set a new standard for the program.
