For the first time in 40 years, American Fork boys soccer has repeated as state champions, defeating Bingham 1-0 in Thursday’s 6A title match. Just like the legendary 1983–84 Cavemen squads, the current team capped a dominant run with back-to-back championships — a rare feat in Utah high school soccer. Senior Lewis Knecht, the 2024 Mr. Soccer, netted the game-winner in the 29th minute to seal the hard-fought victory.
In a dramatic rematch of the 2023 5A boys soccer state final, Alta reversed the script and dethroned two-time defending champion Wasatch with a 3-2 victory.
