For the second consecutive year, Durban High School (DHS) showcased their dominance in the Clifton T20 Tournament, claiming the prestigious Centenary Cup with an undefeated record. Facing a strong Westville Boys’ High team in the final, DHS posted 161/9, with standout performances from Ismaeel Omar (38) and Dhilan Naraidu (29). A fiery bowling attack led by captain Bayanda Majola, who struck early to dismiss key batsmen, ensured DHS defended their total, sealing a 15-run victory.

Day two of the Chemist Warehouse Australian All Schools Athletics Championships saw Queensland’s Gout Gout make history, smashing Peter Norman’s 56-year-old 200m record with a stunning 20.04-second sprint. The 17-year-old’s performance not only surpassed Norman’s iconic 20.06 from the 1968 Olympics but also placed him second on the all-time global list for under 18 athletes, ahead of Usain Bolt. Amaya Mearns (QLD) also shined, claiming the Under 17 Girls’ 200m title in 23.15, becoming the second-fastest Australian Under 18 athlete ever.

The 2024 Foot Locker Australian Schools Championships concluded thrillingly on the Gold Coast, with Berwick College and Brisbane State High School securing the Championship Men's and Women's titles. Berwick edged out Trinity College in a hard-fought 10-point victory, with standout performances from Phoenix Windsor, Seb Rault, and Heath McPherson. Meanwhile, Brisbane State High School finished the tournament undefeated, defeating Immanuel College by 11 points in a showdown featuring Australian Sapphires teammates.

Malanda State High School’s senior girls' cricket team has been crowned state champions in the Street Smarts Secondary Schools T20 Cricket Challenge. The team displayed exceptional skill and determination, securing victory over Shalom College Bundaberg in the grand final. Their success marked the culmination of an outstanding journey through district, regional, and North Queensland rounds before dominating the state finals in Brisbane.
