Warracknabeal Secondary College’s year eight boys netball team captured the School Sport Victoria state title after a thrilling 19-18 grand final win over Catherine McAuley College. The victory capped off a strong campaign at Melbourne’s Waverley Netball Centre, where Warracknabeal bounced back from an opening loss to power through the finals.
Their championship run followed earlier wins at the Black Ranges and regional tournaments, showcasing the team’s steady growth, teamwork, and perseverance. Teacher Rikki Nitschke praised the players’ hard work and community support, highlighting the role of families and local netball peers in their success.
