Defending champions Far Eastern University-Diliman and Ateneo de Manila University opened their UAAP Season 88 High School 3x3 Basketball campaigns with convincing victories on Monday at Ayala Malls Manila Bay. FEU-D, the two-time reigning 19-and-under boys’ champion, cruised past Adamson, 22-9, behind a balanced effort from Sam Hall, Marc Burgos, Cabs Cabonilas, and JB Cagurangan. Hall sealed the win with a late two-pointer, while Cabonilas, who also had six rebounds and four assists, said he wants to end his high school run by helping the Baby Tamaraws complete a “golden double” after their earlier 5-on-5 title. In the 16-and-under division, Ateneo also began its title defense in firm control, beating UPIS, 21-14, as reigning MVP Sky Jazul fired 11 points, including four two-pointers and the game-winner. Tiny orange ball, huge teenage pressure.

Led by Diza Berayo’s 24-point explosion and key plays from Akeyla Bartolabac and Ysabella Cruz, the Lady Bullpups turned the tide after dropping the opening set.
The Ateneo de Manila Blue Eagles made history on May 4, 2025, by capturing their first-ever UAAP Junior High School Boys’ 3x3 Basketball championship with a 22-19 win over UST. Led by standout Sky Jazul, who scored 11 points and was named tournament MVP, the team completed a flawless sweep of the U16 division in UAAP Season 87.
The University of Santo Tomas Junior Golden Booters made history in UAAP Season 87, dethroning Far Eastern University-Diliman with a dramatic 2-1 victory in the high school football final. After falling short last season, UST delivered a redemption performance, fueled by goals from Joshua Moleje and James Sunog. Their triumph not only ended FEU-D’s 12-year reign but also secured UST's first boys' division title in school history.
Jeralyn Rodriguez of the University of the East and Kharis Pantonial of Nazareth School NU delivered record-breaking performances on the second day of the UAAP Season 87 High School Athletics Championships at the New Clark City Athletics Stadium.
