In a low scoring affair, Blackrock College emerged victorious in a 14-9 victory over Terenure College to add a 72nd Leinster Schools Senior Cup title to their trophy cabinet. Hooker Harry O'Neill scored the only try of the game in the tightly contested game at Tallaght Stadium.
The last time a school from county Leitrim had won the All Ireland post-primary Gaelic Football final was in 2000 when Ballinamore were victorious. However, a strong performance from a highly talented St Clare's Comprehensive Manorhamilton team saw them bring the trophy back to a county that waited a quarter of a century to taste success again.
