School Sports Tournaments
Vieux Fort Comprehensive Secondary School won the Under-19 Inter-Schools netball championship after a tense 31-30 victory over Micoud Secondary School in the final at the Beausejour Indoor Facility on Friday, November 14. Hosted by the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports, the tournament brought together top school teams from across Saint Lucia. The final lived up to expectations, with VFCSS using its strong presence in key positions to pressure Micoud throughout the match. Quarter scores of 7-5, 13-11, 24-19, and 31-30 showed how tightly fought the contest was, with Micoud mounting a late push but falling just short at the finish.
Corinth Secondary School (CSS) ended a 10-plus-year title drought with a dominant six-wicket win over Choiseul Secondary in the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Under-15 School 40 Over Cricket Championship. Led by Ethan St. Marthe’s devastating bowling spell and a steady batting response, CSS reasserted its cricketing legacy at Gros Islet Playing Field.
Sir Arthur Lewis Community College were the St Lucia volleyball champions last week, winning both the male and female cup competitions.
