Toin Gakuen High School continued its dominance in Japanese high school rugby, securing its third straight championship at the 105th All Japan High School Rugby Tournament with a 36-15 victory over Kyoto Seisho High School. Held on January 7, 2026, at Hanazono Rugby Stadium in Osaka Prefecture, this win marked Toin Gakuen's sixth overall title, cementing their place in the tournament's history as one of the few schools to achieve a three-peat. Coach Hideyuki Fujiwara, in his 24th year at the helm, expressed his surprise at the team's success, reflecting on the hard work and consistent effort required to reach this pinnacle.
The final match began with a 5-5 draw at halftime, but Toin Gakuen turned the game around in the second half, outscoring Kyoto Seisho 31-10. The team surged ahead with three consecutive tries, including key contributions from Yoshiki Adachi and Fumito Takeyama, whose performances helped extend the lead to 26-5 early in the second half. Toin Gakuen's dominance in the latter stages of the match ensured a commanding win, reinforcing their status as the powerhouse of high school rugby in Japan.
