After a rough start to the season, the New Canaan girls' soccer team turned things around in dominant fashion, winning 18 of their last 20 games and capturing both the FCIAC and CIAC Class L championships. The Rams secured their first state title since 2009 with a 1-0 victory over Sacred Heart Academy, thanks to a game-winning goal from Claire Greisen and a strong defensive performance.
Their biggest statement, however, came in the FCIAC championship, where they ended St. Joe’s 57-game win streak dramatically. After a tense 1-1 draw through regulation and extra time, New Canaan rallied from a 2-0 deficit in the penalty shootout to win 3-2, capping off an unforgettable season. The team credits their success to their bond, resilience, and belief in each other, leaving a lasting legacy of teamwork and triumph.
