Italian exchange student Edoardo Pelegatti knew nothing about American football when he moved to the United States in August. Just 4 months later, he was celebrating a state championship win with the American Canyon High School football team.
Pelagatti, who played football in Italy, played a crucial role as the teams kicker with his high accuracy rate helping the Wolves in their victorious season. He had a 96% success rate from extra points throughout the season, including landing all his extra points in their 68-47 state championship victory over Palmdale last weekend. He also landed both his field goal attempts in the season, helping him provide 78 points for the team, making him the team's third highest scorer.
Clearly, his transition from football to American football was a seemless one and could provide inspiration for future exhange students in the same position. Flying the Italian flag high, Edoardo is now playing centre midfield for the schools soccer team and is considering remaining in the states for college.
