Papanui High School’s para-athletes delivered an outstanding performance at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Athletics Championships, capturing multiple national titles and podium finishes. Their achievements not only showcased individual talent but also highlighted the school’s strong commitment to inclusivity and athletic excellence.
Leading the way was Cody Lamond, who dominated the Junior category with three national titles in the 800m, 1500m, and 2000m road race. He also secured silver in discus and bronze in shotput. The Senior Para 4x100m Relay Team—comprising Lee West, Toby Paterson, Cody Lamond, and Clark Slater—further boosted Papanui’s success with a national title-winning time of 1:05.13.
