Kelston Boys’ High Claims World Schools Rugby Title, Keeps Trophy in New Zealand

Kelston Boys’ High secured the World Schools Rugby Festival title with a hard-fought 20-12 victory over South African powerhouse Paul Roos Gymnasium in Abu Dhabi. Led by standout loose forwards Aio Keith, Joseph Paiali’i, and Ulutoa Ai’i, along with captain Jarrel Tuaimalo-Vaega, Kelston battled back from an early deficit to reclaim the championship for New Zealand for the third straight year.

Kelston Boys’ High secured the World Schools Rugby Festival title with a hard-fought 20-12 victory over South African powerhouse Paul Roos Gymnasium in Abu Dhabi. Led by standout loose forwards Aio Keith, Joseph Paiali’i, and Ulutoa Ai’i, along with captain Jarrel Tuaimalo-Vaega, Kelston battled back from an early deficit to reclaim the championship for New Zealand for the third straight year.

Keith’s brilliant solo try and a crucial score from centre Koupa Nomotu gave Kelston momentum, while Paiali’i’s late try sealed the win. The triumph capped a historic year for the West Auckland school, adding to their Auckland 1A and Blues region titles. Meanwhile, fellow Kiwi side Westlake Boys’ High finished third with a 26-12 win over England’s Millfield School.
