Students from Emeralds International - a brand new school in Port Said, Egypt - shone in their first ever sports tournament earlier this year, racking up a number of medals.
The school opened its doors in September 2024 and, despite having only 200 students, has already made its mark in local sporting competition.
Emeralds proudly participated in the Porto Olympic Games in Port Said in November, with 25 boys and girls competing in football, basketball, and athletics events.
Despite only two months of training, the students showcased their individual skills, incredible teamwork, and unfailing determination to secure a number of medals across different events.
Mohamed Nofal, Head of the PE Department at Emeralds, said he was "thrilled" at his students' "outstanding achievements".
He continued: "This success wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of our amazing PE team and coaches, who worked tirelessly to prepare our athletes.
"I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve accomplished together in such a short time. This is just the beginning! We look forward to more competitions, growth, and victories ahead.
"A huge congratulations to our students - you’ve made your school proud!"
