Choiseul Bay PSS came within a point of toppling reigning champions Panatina CHS in their opening match at SISSG25, narrowly losing 11–10 after leading for most of the game. Their late arrival in Honiara following a rough sea journey and missed opening ceremony didn’t stop them from delivering a gutsy performance.

Coach Dimymar Kimata credited her team’s resilience, noting fatigue in the final quarter cost them the win. Despite the loss, she sees the experience—especially playing on a top-level court—as an important milestone for the young squad, many of whom are first-time competitors at this level.
