The Par-eb-Bas Sharks were crowned Division 2 high school hockey champions at the Yarmouth Mariners Centre this past weekend, making it their second back-to-back win.
The team fought hard against the West Kings Wolverines in a tight match, coming out 3-1 up to win the School Sport Nova Scotia championship.
At the end of the first period there was still no score before the Sharks took a 2-0 lead in the second period with goals from Ben Lyons and Dominic Jacquard. The third period was intense, lots of back-and-forth action resulted in a near goal-less third period.
With one minute and nine seconds remaining of the final, Shaun Campbell and Tanner Etheridge were able to squeeze a loose puck into the Shark’s net to reduce PEB’s lead. Following the goal, the Wolverines pulled their goalie for an attacker in the hopes of extending their comeback.
Unfortunately for them this was not the case and Sharks were able to claim their title with Dominic Jacquard’s second goal of the game. A 3-1 finish and success for the Sharks in going back-to-back.
