Arguably one of the most impressive dynasties in all sport, let alone school sport, is the Westville Boys' High swimming team who have only lost once in the last decade. This loss came against St Benedict's College, however when the teams faced one another later that season, Westville came out on top.
Over the weekend, they continued their dominance with more success. In the Affie's Invitational Gala in Pretoria, the Westville team claimed a dominant victory, scoring 419 points, which was clear of second place St Benedict's with 366 points. Westville have competed in the tournament four times and have won every time, further highlighting their dominance in South African school swimming.
They also competed in the Alan Burt Gala the next day but showed no signs of fatigue in another emphatic victory. Westville scored an impressive 568 points which was 114 more than second place Durban High School. This win marks an incredible 17th consecutive victory at the Alan Burt Gala for Westville, showing their longevity as a force to be reckoned with.
